The General Data Protection Regulation or GDPR came into effect on 25th May, 2018, with the aim of standardizing personal data management among countries in the European Union.
It is a regulation that will ensure an increase in transparency of data processing, set up clearer consent provisions, and provide users the right to request or remove their data, along with other data privacy measures.
The CCPA or California Consumer Privacy Act is a legal framework designed to protect the privacy of Californian citizens. The state of California passed the CCPA act on 28th June 2019. The law came into effect from 1st January 2020. It mandates consumers’ consent to collect, process or store their personal data.
