The EU Cookie Directive is an amendment to the e-Privacy Directive. It was adopted in May 2011 buy all EU Countries.

The directive requires websites that either owned by EU businesses or target EU citizens. Such websites must inform visitors that the website uses cookies, what cookies are used, why they’re used and how they’re used.
