Everything you need to know about DSAR.

A data subject access request (DSAR) is a request from someone asking to access, delete, or receive a copy of the personal data a site holds about them. GDPR gives EU/UK individuals these rights under Articles 15 (access), 17 (deletion), and 20 (portability/export); CPRA and LGPD give similar rights.

Yes. Enable the request form in WP Cookie Consent, publish it with a shortcode, and choose which request types visitors can submit, Access, Delete, Export, or Other. You’re notified by email the moment one comes in, and it lands in your request queue. This is free and live today.

Not yet on its own. That part, automatically discovering the requester’s data and guiding you through resolving the request, is launching soon on the Compliance Dashboard. Today, once a request lands in your queue, resolving it is a manual process.

Access, Delete, and Export are automated on the Compliance Dashboard. “Other” stays a manual, guided catch-all for anything outside those three.

It will be anonymized by default rather than deleted, since order records often have to be kept for accounting or legal reasons, with the option to delete instead if that default doesn’t fit.

Under GDPR Article 12(3), a controller must respond without ndue delay, and within one month of receiving the request, extendable by two further months for complex or numerous requests. The Compliance Dashboard’s automated processing will track a 30-day default and flag overdue requests.

The design calls for reports and exports encrypted at rest and shared through signed links that expire after 7 days, admin-only access controls, and rate limiting on the public-facing intake and verification steps.

No. The request form helps you collect a DSAR, and the coming automation will help you discover and act on the data behind it — neither decides your legal basis for you, and some situations still need a lawyer’s review.

No. The request form, notification, and queue stay free in WP Cookie Consent regardless. The automated discovery, guided actions, and reports are a Compliance Dashboard feature.

It’s in development.
